The businesses listed below offer options for electronic item disposal. We greatly appreciate your participation in these programs. This first section gives a great option for donation, and following are local electronic recycling options.

Not Accepted:
Please remove any original packaging from electronics prior to drop-off. Large cardboard boxes, styrofoam, or other packaging associated with electronics are not accepted. Dehumidifiers, air conditioners, appliances, coffee pots, crockpots and lamps are also not accepted.

Ogle County residents may recycle electronics on the last Friday of each month.
There will be someone available to asisst you in removing your electronics from your vehicle.
Limit two TV or computer monitors (or one of each) per visit.
$10 fee per microwave oven. Check payable to: Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department.

Each year the Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department and the Lee County Office of Solid Waste Management hold one or two collection events for recycling electronic waste. The events are alternated between the counties each year.

Monday - Saturday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. There is a small pick up fee.
Other Items accepted (but not limited to): Aluminum storms, car batteries, copper wire, nuts and bolts, old x-rays, all types of metals, etc.

Secure Recycling Services specializes in collecting, recycling and refurbishing electronic waste.
Residents may drop off used or obsolete electronic items Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Commercial businesses are asked to call and schedule an appointment. There will be a nominal charge for this service.

Recycling Information:
Your local Staples store accepts old office technology products. They responsibly and securely recycle them at no cost to you - any brand, any condition, even if you purchased it somewhere else.

Recycling Information:
Goodwill and Dell have developed a partnership to form a free drop off program called Reconnect.
Drop Off Locations: Goodwill stores in Machesney Park, Rockford, Freeport, Sterling, DeKalb, Ottawa, McHenry, Huntley and Beloit, Wisconsin. See website for more address locations.
All value recovered from the program will go to Goodwill to support job training and employment service programs.
